About Us
At Launde Primary School, we are proud to be the lead school for the Oadby Learning Partnership teaching school. (OLP). The OLP involves a network of outstanding and good schools from the Oadby, Houghton and Thurnby areas. All the OLP alliance schools are dedicated to ensuring all aspects of the ITT training they lead are of the highest quality and have considerable experience in this area. The alliance expects to use this route to grow outstanding teachers and leaders to employ in their schools and across Leicestershire. Trainees applying to this School Direct partnership can expect one, and often two, of their three school placements to be within OLP Schools in the Oadby, Houghton and Thurnby areas.
About Your Training Provider
School Direct is a route to train teachers that follows the SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) philosophy of putting schools at the heart of the ITT process. All trainees on School Direct programmes accredited by the L & L SCITT will specialise within training to teach either FS & KS1 (3-7yrs) pupils or KS1 & KS2 (5-11yrs) pupils.
Partner Schools
Trainees can be placed in any of the 60 Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT partner schools. Trainees applying to this School Direct partnership can expect one, and often two, of their three school placements to be within OLP Schools in the Oadby, Houghton and Thurnby areas.
